Cold Iron Studios’ new co-op title, Aliens: Fireteam, is coming to consoles and PC. It is a multiplayer 3rd person shooter that plays a bit like Gears Of War. Head Craig Zinkievich stated: “This is the action game Alien fans have been waiting for”.
Get Away From Her, You B****!
Splitting into teams of 3, you are all tasked with gunning down waves of Xenomorphs. Members has five classes: Gunner, Demolisher, Technician, Doc, and Recon. Weapons include the standard-issue M41A Pulse Rifle and fragmentation grenades. There’s also new gadgets like charge coils: sticky shock grenades that stun Xenomorphs in place. There are 11 breeds of Xenomorphs to deal with such as Spitters, Warriors, and Bursters. There’s also Weyland-Yutani synthetics to worry about.
Aliens: Fireteam is set 23 years after the original Alien Trilogy. You lot, a group of colonial marines, answer a distress call from other colonies on the USS Endeavor. Over 4 campaigns you are deployed to battle aliens across abandoned ruins, strange alien landscapes and overrun facilities.
Soldiers level up over time which allows them to unlock new weapons, abilities and customizations. Fireteam has 30 weapons and more than 70 mods and attachments, plus a Perk Board that enhances and modifies players’ abilities.
As long as Aliens: Fireteam meets the standard set by Alien: Isolation and not stoop to Aliens: Colonial Marines level, fans should be happy.
Aliens: Fireteam is expected to launch this summer on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and Steam.
