Animal Crossing Is The Best Game To Play If You Want To Set Back And Relax

In recent times, the gaming world has been filled with fast-paced action-packed video games. I am not saying that I’m against these complex story-oriented battle-rich games. I enjoy them a lot.

But I believe sometimes all that battling aliens or racing against the clock can leave you feeling drained. And sometimes we all need something a bit more relaxing.

Key Takeaways

  • Animal Crossing provides a great escape from reality by allowing players to design and customize their island with its peaceful and relaxing environment.
  • With no pressure or urgent tasks, Animal Crossing lets players enjoy relaxing activities at their own pace, such as fishing or catching bugs. Similarly, the game’s seasonal events and regular updates keep things fresh and new items, and challenges to test your creativity.
  • Animal Crossing’s soothing music, gentle sound effects, and beautiful visuals create a perfect escape from reality and offer a peaceful world to relax in.
  • You can also play with your friends and engage in fun activities together. It is a great way to catch up with them.

That’s why we need more wholesome games like Animal Crossing. The Nintendo-exclusive game with 90% positive reviews on Metacritic that quickly became a hit in the pandemic days is still relevant today if you are looking for a relaxing and soothing experience.

If you don’t know about it, Animal Crossing allows you to build your small world, just like Minecraft.

A World Of Endless Creativity

Let’s start with the most obvious highlight of Animal Crossing: the freedom to create your own island paradise. The game gives you complete control over your environment. That means you are allowed to design and customize every inch of your island.

From building bridges and inclines to placing furniture and planting flowers, there are endless possibilities for making your dream life come to reality.

Even on my first try, I spent hours building my empire, arranging my island’s layout, and making sure every tree and flower bed was perfectly placed. The sense of accomplishment when you finish any building project brings in another kind of satisfaction.

The good thing is the game’s seasonal events and regular updates not only keep things fresh but also offer new items and challenges to test your creativity.

My favorite seasonal event is the Cherry Blossom Festival. During this event, the entire island is decorated with beautiful pink cherry blossoms. You can collect petals to craft special items and do many other fun things. It’s these little touches that make Animal Crossing a joy to play.

Relaxing Activities And No Pressure

Unlike many games that bombard you with objectives and deadlines, Animal Crossing lets you set the pace. There are no quests or urgent tasks. You wake up when you want, catch some bugs if you feel like it, or simply water your flowers and enjoy the sunshine.

The game’s real-time clock and calendar system helps in enjoying a calming experience. You can experience different weather conditions, and seasonal events, and even celebrate holidays with your villagers. To sum it up, it’s like having a mini virtual world that evolves with you.

The game is filled with relaxing activities that you can enjoy at your own pace. Whether it’s fishing in the quiet rivers, catching bugs in the meadows, or diving for sea creatures, there’s always something to do. The lack of pressure to do things is a cherry on top.

Fishing is one of my favorite activities. There’s something incredibly soothing about standing by the river, casting my line, and waiting for a bite. The fact that the variety of fish changes every season makes it a very fun activity. It’s the attention to detail that melts my heart.

I mean, how many games let you spend an entire day fishing only to catch nothing but a common goldfish and a rogue shoe? In Animal Crossing, that’s perfectly okay! The beauty lies in the freedom to do (or not do) whatever you like.

A Perfect Escape From Reality

Coming home after a hectic day at work and logging into COD. Two games in and you have already got your ass handed over to you by hackers or better players.

You logged in to relax and instead got more frustrated. You know what I’m talking about. At this stage, you should be looking for a truly relaxing game.

I think what makes Animal Crossing a perfect choice is the game’s soothing music, gentle sound effects, and beautiful visuals create a calming atmosphere that’s hard to match. Whether it’s the gentle chirping tune that plays as you explore your island or the soothing piano music that comes out of your neighbor’s house, the soundtrack creates a sense of peace and serenity.

Kazumi Totaka deserves full credit and appreciation for music composition and production for Animal Crossing. It’s a place where you can forget about your office worries and engage yourself in a peaceful world of your own.

The ability to visit friends’ islands is another wonderful feature. Sharing your island with friends, trading items, and participating in multiplayer events add a social element that’s both fun and comforting. It was especially a useful feature during the height of the pandemic to connect with friends.

Again, the attention to detail and the overall peaceful environment with lots of fun activities make this game a must-have on your Nintendo Switch.
