Paladins are one of the most lore-wise exciting classes during the missions related to their subclasses. Their prominent ability is strength, but they possess saving throw proficiency, Wisdom, and Charisma. They can be pretty fun to play with and will keep you entertained.

Rangers are a class that relies on their dexterity and their tamed beasts to outmaneuver their opponents and have the higher ground. They aren’t the tankiest but can be pretty powerful at range and even melee due to their agile movements.

Rogue

Rogue is another mesmerizing class and has been a popular choice in the Baldur’s Gate 3 Best Multiclass debate. They possess dexterity and Intelligence, allowing them to open even the most secured locks. Furthermore, they excel at range and landing additional sneak attack damage on their foes.

Sorcerer

Sorcerers are a class that possess high charisma and constitution that they can use to their advantage. They don’t need to prepare their spells beforehand and can choose what to use at the moment as they see fit. The drawback of this is their small arsenal of spells.

Warlock

Warlock is another class that possesses the attributes of Charisma and Wisdom. Moreover, they possess high-quality spells which take time to wind up but hit just as hard. Furthermore, they can access the most amount of weaponry to equip as they see fit, making them one of the casters’ strongest, if not the strongest.

Wizard

Wizards are the last class on this list and possess the primary ability of Intelligence and saving throw proficiency of Wisdom. They are the most versatile but require you to prepare your spells beforehand, meaning you must figure out what kind of peril you will face and how to counter it most effectively.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Best Multiclasses

All these Baldur’s Gate 3 classes have something to offer that no other class can. This also results in their specific flaws, which can become detrimental in a battle if you don’t cover them. Hence you must ensure you are aware of the drawbacks and how to reinforce those areas.

Furthermore, while figuring out an excellent multiclass, another essential thing is ensuring the classes have good synergy and can complement each other. If you have these two things down, any multiclass has the potential to rise to the top.

After you have made your decision of choosing your first class, you will see a level-up icon after enough experience.

You can press that and it will ask you which class you wish to upgrade. Here you will be able to think over what combination you want to go for or if you want to just stick with one. You can only level up one class at a time so make sure you do your research beforehand to learn about each class’s power spikes.

Furthermore, when looking for a strong combination of classes, make sure you are aware of the ability score which plays a crucial role in determining your attacks.

Moreover, as the levels will be divided between two classes, you will not be able to unlock the higher-level spells and abilities such as those at levels 11 and 12 for the most combinations. Hence, ensure that you know what you are sacrificing and if it is worth it.

Now that you are aware of how the multiclass system function in Baldur’s Gate 3 universe, let’s start looking at the combinations that I found powerful.

Wizard and Fighter

This is one of the strongest multiclass in Baldur’s Gate 3 and is capable of one-shotting hordes of monsters. Coupling the heavy armor availability from the Fighter class along with the oppressive offensive capabilities of the Wizard class and you have a versatile character that can survive their way through most of the situations you will face.

To make this class work though you will have to take some risks. You will have to start by putting points in the Fighter class so that you are able to get the heavy armor and be somewhat sustainable in fights. Afterwards.

Shift your focus to leveling up the wizard class until level six as now you will be able to have access to an arsenal of offensive and defensive spells which gives you adaptability during fights.

Now, put another level into the fighter class to the Action Surge which will enable you to fire double spells and take out hordes of monsters and become a goliath in the game.

Rogue and Barbarian

Rogue and Barbarian is another strong multiclass combo due to the ability to pair the Berserker’s Frenzy with the extra attack which makes the weapon proc the bonus damage twice and deal humongous damage to any foes that are unfortunate enough to face you.

Furthermore, you can get that sneak attack die due to using a Finesse weapon making you a very dangerous opponent that can even get sneak attacks in and once exposed can just out-damage the enemies.

The best level division for these two classes is to have seven to eight points in the Rogue Class and the rest in Barbarian Class. You can go for the opposite as well but I don’t recommend it as the Rogue class damage scales better with levels and is a must for this multiclass to thrive.

Fighter and Barbarian

Next up on my Baldur’s Gate 3 Multiclass guide, I have the Multiclass of Fighter and Barbarian. This is one of my personal favorites as it allows you to act as a one-man army due to all the accumulated stats.

You combine the Fighter class attacking capabilities with the tank attributes of the Barbarian class along with their rage making you deal significant damage and remain standing after eating the enemy attacks.

In this multiclass, the most impact ratio of level division is eight levels in the Fighter class while putting the rest in the Barbarian. This allows you to get the best out of both the classes such as high crit chance which can easily turn a fight around and make you overwhelm your opponents.

Ranger and Rogue

Both of these classes contain an element of surprise in their arsenal and use it to land chunks of damage on their opponents.

Furthermore, the sneak attack bonus damage for the rogue class and the range advantage of the ranger class can be a brutal combination. This also allows you to cover the weakness of the ranger class that does minor melee damage by doing your combo with the rogue class.

As the classes progress, you can choose from various subclasses, among which the Gloom Stalker and Hunter subclass fit this build perfectly. Upon choosing a subclass, your power will rise exponentially.

You should level up your rogue class with only two or three points in the Ranger Class to ensure that your critical attack damage while stealthy remains high and to one-shot smaller mobs.

Monk and Cleric

Monk and Cleric is a monstrous combo to have at the frontline. Both these classes provide really good attributes that mesh well together and allow you to increase your effectiveness in battles. The best combo between these classes is if you invest 2 points in Monk early and then use the rest on Cleric as it scales better later on and has more to provide.

Because you will be doing this split between the levels, you will lose out on the level 11 skills and feats in the classes, so make sure you know what they are.

Furthermore, going for the build on Cleric will make you a more defensive and supportive character rather than a damage dealer. If you want to take all the glory and go the flashy plays, you can swap the levels around to couple the Monk’s damage scaling with the Cleric class accuracy.

Ranger and Paladin

This is another powerful combo that combines two great abilities and provides you the ability to cover the weakness of the classes. For example, Paladin is a tank class capable of withstanding damage making their own damage output low in terms of the rest of the damage dealers.

However, when paired with the Ranger class, they gain ranged attacks which enable them to attack enemies on their turn and be able to sustain themselves in a close-range fight as well.

In this multiclass build, you can go for either class to rank up while putting two points in the other one. If you wish for more damage, leveling up the ranger class will be better. However, if you wish more tank stats, you can level up the paladin class till level ten. Definitely one of the Baldur’s Gate 3 Best Multiclass due to its utility and versatility.
