Waleed has over 800+ hours spent in Elden Ring, and he knows a great deal about the game. You can put your trust in Waleed to provide you with a hands-on experience of Elden Ring.

This guide will break down the top 10 faith damage weapons you can use. One thing that I can tell you is that there is a lot to pick from, but we wanted to come up with a list of the top ten weapons based on their base damage, their scaling with the faith stat, and their usefulness in their move set.

This guide will also explain how to obtain each of these weapons in the Elden Ring. You can also read our overall Best Elden Ring Weapons for similar information.

Key Takeaways

Weapons in Elden Ring scale with different stats of the character. These stats include Faith, Intelligence, Vigor, Strength, Dexterity, and Poise. Here are the best ones and what they offer:

  1. Golden Halberd balances offense and defense, requires 30 Strength, and is obtained from Tree Sentinel at the Church Of Elleh in Limgrave.
  2. Coded Sword has high Faith but lacks physical damage, found at Lower Capital Church in Liurni.
  3. Tree Spear is Faith-based with Sacred Order Ash of War, found in the Leonia Region.
  4. Uchigatana offers good range, Blood buildup, and agile moves in Death Touch Catacombs.
  5. Gargoyle’s Blackblade and Black Halberd are high-damage weapons with D-grade Faith Scaling, obtained by defeating a boss in Caelid’s Forbidden Lands.
  6. Flying Winged Scythe is Faith-friendly with bleed buildup, found in Tomb Word Ruins.
  7. Cipher Pata deals Holy damage, exclusive to Faith builds, located at Round Table Hold.
  8. Sword of Night and Flame is for mages with flame attacks and Night Comet sorcery, in Carry Manor in Leonia.
  9. Grafted Dragon, obtained by defeating Godrick at Stromville Castle and trading Remembrance at Round Table Hold, is a hand-worn weapon with a fire-spitting dragon head, mainly scaling with Faith.

Comparison Table.

Golden Halberd

Best Faith Weapon for Offense & Defense.

Why did I Choose Golden Halberd?

I chose the Golden Halberd for my Faith Strength build because it strikes a perfect balance between offense and defense. Its solid Faith scaling and the bonus of the Ash of War make it an ideal choice for those who want a versatile and reliable weapon.

First on my list is the Golden Halberd; now this Faith Weapon weapon gets D Faith scaling even as you crank it up, it’ll keep its defense scaling, which is solid, and the Ash of War attached to it allows you to increase your attack and defense for a while. The increase in your attack and defense is really helpful.

Golden Halberd Stats Table.

Its move set is amazing, but the only downside to this weapon is its 30 Strength requirement. If you plan on going with a Faith Strength build, this is a great start, but there is a better option later on in this Faith Weapons list. Golden Halberd is a very decent start to our guide.

You will have to go to the Church of Elleh in Limgrave. Once you arrive, you will have to defeat the Tree Sentinel roaming around.

  • Balanced offense and defense.
  • Ash of War for increased attack and defense.
  • Solid Faith scaling.

  • Requires 30 Strength.

Coded Sword

Best Faith Weapon for Unblockable Attacks.

Why did I Choose Coded Sword?

I opted for the Coded Sword, especially in PvP scenarios. Its unblockable Holy Blade Slash provides a distinct advantage, making it a strategic choice for encounters where breaking through defenses is crucial.

Coded Sword Stats Table.

The Coded Sword in the game has notable Faith scaling, which starts at B and potentially reaches S at rank six. It’s considered the highest starting Faith weapon in the game.

The sword features an attack called the Holy Blade Slash, which is paired with the Ash of War, making it an unblockable and powerful move, particularly useful in PvP scenarios.

It doesn’t rank as the number one Faith weapon on our list. Despite its impressive scaling and unblockable attack, it falls short in terms of damage output, especially when compared to other Faith weapons that have both Holy and Physical Damage.

To maximize its effectiveness, I strongly recommend dual-wielding it with another sword that deals with Holy damage to compensate for the lower damage output. Ultimately, the unblockable nature of the Coded Sword is a significant advantage.

Head over to the Lower Capital Church in Liurni. Climb the Dragon Statue to reach the top of the church, and you will notice an area that faintly resembles an abandoned castle. You will find the weapon in an isolated room inside the castle.

  • Highest starting Faith weapon.
  • Unblockable Holy Blade Slash.
  • Notable Faith scaling.

  • Lower damage output compared to some other Faith weapons.

Tree Spear

Best Faith Weapon for Physical & Holy Damage.

Why did I Choose Tree Spear?

I chose The Tree Spear for its versatility. Scaling with Strength, Dexterity, and Faith, it caters to a well-rounded build. The Holy Essence against the undead adds an extra layer of effectiveness, making it a reliable choice for various situations.

It is a great weapon that is scaled with Strength, Dexterity, and Faith, and it requires quite a fair amount of Dexterity and Faith to wield properly.

By the term wield properly, I mean that it includes access to a unique Ash of War called Sacred Order, which gives the weapon a Holy Essence especially strong against the undead.

Tree Spear Stats Table.

The weapon is located in the Leonia region. From the first sight of grace that you get, you need to jump down the eclipse outside the back of the castle and follow the road on the right to its end.

You will see a giant that has gotten loose, and you can either fight or run away from him. Run up to the abandoned carriage at the end of the road, inside of which lays the Tree Spear.

  • Scales with Strength, Dexterity, and Faith.
  • Holy Essence against the undead.

  • Requires a fair amount of Dexterity and Faith.

Best Faith Katana.

Why did I Choose Uchigatana?

I chose the Uchigatana for its agility and unique Unsheathe skill move. The ability to cause blood buildup and apply various Ash of War options, especially the Sacred Whetstone, makes it a dynamic and effective weapon for players.

The Uchigatana causes blood buildup and is a perfect weapon. The weapon can allow for any Ash of War to be applied and has Holy scaling. It requires the use of Sacred Whetstone that turns it into a Sacred Uchigatana and allows the players to effectively increase the damage output for both Physical and Holy damage from the weapon.

The move set of Uchigatana is quite amazing and offers a good amount of range. Furthermore, it has a crazy skill move called Unsheathe, which is extremely fast and deals a considerable amount of damage.

You will need to head over to the Death Touch Catacombs. Once you’re there, you will need to take a right turn and then an immediate left onto a little secret passage when you’re walking down the stairs.

What you’re going to do is take another left, and then you should be at the Uchigatana.

  • Causes blood buildup.
  • Unique skill move (Unsheathe).
  • Good range and Holy scaling.

  • Requires specific Ash of War for optimal damage output.

Gargoyle’s Blackblade

Best Faith Weapon for Crowd Control.

Why did I Choose Gargoyle’s Blackblade?

For maximizing damage output and crowd control, the Gargoyle’s Blackblade became my weapon of choice. The Spinning Splash skill is a game-changer in tight situations, making it an ideal selection for dealing with multiple foes.

The most annoying and somewhat difficult boss is the Black Blade Kindred, and he drops the Gargoyle weapons once defeated. The Blackblade weapon is pretty awesome, and it deals a great amount of Holy damage. It also has a cool skill called Spinning Splash.

Although, the weapon seems to require a high faith stat. It has an insane skill called Spinning Splash that deals with immediate damage and significantly reduces the enemy’s health. The Blackblade offers D-grade faith scaling and a decent range.

Gargoyle’s Blackblade Stats Table.

To obtain this Faith Weapon sword, you need to go to Grails Dragon Barrel. Once you get there, take a right turn, and you will notice the boss right behind you.

The boss drops two weapons and is situated in the Forbidden Lands in the Caelid region.

  • High Holy damage.
  • Spinning Splash skill.

  • Requires defeating a challenging boss.

Gargoyle’s Black Halberd

Best All-Rounder Faith Weapon.

Why did I Choose Gargoyle’s Black Halberd?

Seeking a balanced build, I chose the Gargoyle’s Black Halberd. Its combination of Strength, Faith, and Dexterity scaling allows for both Physical and Holy damage, providing versatility in encounters. The weapon’s overall damage output makes it a reliable choice for different scenarios.

The same weapon dropped by the boss mentioned above, Black Blade Kindred, scales with Strength, Faith, and Dexterity. It has a pretty decent move set and also offers players with D-grade Faith scaling.

The damage output of the Black Halberd is quite insane as it inflicts both Physical and Holy damage.

Players can obtain the weapon from the same location as the Gargoyle’s Blackblade in the Forbidden Lands in the Caelid region.

  • Scales with Strength, Faith, and Dexterity.
  • Inflicts both Physical and Holy damage.

  • Requires defeating the same challenging boss as Blackblade.

Flying Winged Scythe

Best Faith Weapon for Bleed Buildup.

Why did I Choose Flying Winged Scythe?

The Flying Winged Scythe stood out as the best Faith weapon for my play style. With a Dexterity and Faith focus, it offers passive bleed buildup and an outstanding Ash of War in Unstoppable Onslaught. Its unique spinning and slash attack complements an aggressive approach in combat.

It is not only a Dexterity but also a Faith-based weapon in the Elden Ring, and it will scale with any type of Faith build. The Winged Scythe has a passive bleed buildup, which is amazing for any type of boss fight.

The sword is also based on light attacks and fully charged heavy attacks and does Holy and Slashing damage. The Scythe has a unique art of war that will leap forward with a holy imbued attack that prevents your opponents from using a flask of tears. It is useful against a few NPCs, who will use their flasks, but mostly this will see its use as a PvP weapon for sure.

Flying Winged Scythe Stats Table.

The Flying Winged Scythe is considered the top in my Best Faith Weapons guide as it comes with the best Ash of War in this game. Its spinning and slash attack can stagger the enemies at the first hit, and the second hit can guarantee a bleed buildup.

Overall, the weapon is really powerful and has great range. It gets C faith scaling at only in plus six, which allows it to compete and do better damage than any of the other Faith weapons in this list.

To acquire the Winged Scythed, head over to the Tombs Word Ruins, and you can either fight or avoid a couple of enemies so you can loot the chest and you will get the weapon.

  • Passive bleed buildup.
  • Powerful Ash of War (Unstoppable Onslaught).
  • Dexterity and Faith-based.

  • Requires a specific playstyle to maximize its effectiveness.

Cipher Pata

Best Faith Weapon for pure Holy Damage.

Why did I Choose Cipher Pata?

My preference for dealing pure Holy damage and bypassing shields led me to choose the Cipher Pata. The unique Unblockable Blade Ash of War, combined with its exclusive focus on Faith, makes it a specialized yet powerful option for encounters where shield penetration is crucial.

The weapon deals pure Holy damage, ignores shields, and is perfect for pure Faith and arcane build. The Cipher Pata has a move set of the Hook Claws but with a good faith aesthetic.

The holy damage involved as well as a unique Ash of War called Unblockable Blade because the attack lunges forward with an unblockable attack. However, you need to have 30 Faith to use this weapon, and it scales exclusively with Faith.

Cipher Pata Stats Table.

You can find this sword in the Round Table Hold. In a table of lost guests area, enter through the passage right next to the fireplace. Jump from the second floor and go to the left side of the area.

You will find a room, and on top of its bed, you will find this Faith weapon.

  • Pure Holy damage.
  • Unique Unblockable Blade Ash of War.
  • Ignores shields.

  • Requires 30 Faith.

Sword Of Night & Flame

Best Faith Weapon for Mage Builds.

Why did I Choose Sword of Night and Flame?

As a seasoned mage in Elden Ring, I chose the Sword of Night and Flame for its versatility. The ability to switch between fire attacks and Night Comet sorcery caters to different scenarios, providing a well-rounded approach for mage builds.

This particular sword takes advantage of multiple schools of magic through its Ash of War. Otherwise, a normal straight sword, this weapon can choose to create either a fire attack or the Night Comet Sorcery.

It also scales with both Intelligence and Faith for its regular damage. The weapon itself deals immense damage and can be used by Mage builds.

Sword of Night and Flame Stats Table.

The Flame attack is a little bit more close range. It deals even more damage out of the gate and with an unoptimized build, making and trivializing pretty much most of the early-game fights while also making you extremely cool.

Head to Carry Manor in the Northwestern tip of Leonia. Travel along the walkways until you are towards the middle of the area. From there, you will have to drop down onto the roof on your left and climb down through the secret hole.

Look around and find the chest that has the Sword of Night and Flame inside it.

  • Multiple schools of magic through Ash of War.
  • Scales with Intelligence and Faith.

  • Limited range for the Flame attack.

Grafted Dragon

Best Faith Weapon for Visually Striking Playstyle.

Why did I Choose Grafted Dragon?

I chose the Grafted Dragon for its visually striking playstyle. Equipping a fire-spitting dragon head on my arm added a unique flair to combat. The combination of Faith, Strength, and Dexterity scaling aligns with the character’s development, and the choice between the Axe of Godrick or Grafted Dragon offers flexibility in your play style.

The last weapon on our Faith Weapons guide is the Grafted Dragon. The Stats on this weapon require a good amount of Faith, Strength, and Dexterity.

The amazing thing about this weapon is that it equips your arm, and it spews a good amount of fire that deals good damage. It’s pretty cool to have a dragon’s head fitted on one of your arms and a head that spits fire on the enemies. You will need the following leveled stats:

  • Strength – 20
  • Dexterity – 14
  • Faith – 16

Grafted Dragon Stats Table.

A little backstory to the main boss would be fun! So, Godrick the Grafted is the ruler of Stormville Castle, and his body is clad by extremities taken from his previous victims. During his second phase, he grafts a dragon head onto his arm, spewing streams of deadly fire.

You must defeat him, and it is pretty easy, though. Head towards the Round Table Hold and run straight up the stairs, and you will notice an NPC called Finger Reader Ernia.

It would be best if you traded Remembrance of the Graft to acquire either Axe of Godrick or the Grafted Dragon. The choice is yours, although the dragon head looks pretty cool.

  • Scales with Faith, Strength, and Dexterity.
  • Equips on the arm, fire-spitting dragon head.

  • Requires defeating a specific boss.

Why Others Were Not Choosen?

  1. Black Knife: Its reliance on Faith and Dexterity for scaling may limit its effectiveness for non-faithful characters, potentially restricting its optimal use to specific build types.
  2. Envoy’s Long Horn: Has slow swing speed and limited reach, making it less suitable for players who prefer a faster, more versatile weapon.
  3. Sacred Relic Sword: Its reliance on dexterity scaling may disappoint players seeking a more traditional strength-oriented greatsword experience.
  4. Blasphemous Blade: It is overpowered nature can make the game feel less challenging for players seeking a more difficult experience.
  5. Maliketh’s Black Blade: It is Bulky and heavy, which may hinder mobility for characters with lower strength, while its faith scaling limits its effectiveness for certain builds in Elden Ring.

What Would I Recommend?

As an experienced Elden Ring player, I would highly recommend the Flying Winged Scythe for its exceptional blend of Dexterity and Faith scaling. Its passive bleed buildup, coupled with the powerful Ash of War in Unstoppable Onslaught, creates a devastating combination that excels in both PvE and PvP scenarios.

The unique spinning and slash attack provide excellent crowd control, making it a top choice for aggressive playstyles. Additionally, its C-grade Faith scaling at plus six ensures competitive damage output, making it a versatile and potent Faith weapon.

Another standout choice would be the Grafted Dragon, offering a visually striking and unique playstyle. Equipping a fire-spitting dragon head on your arm adds a distinctive flair to combat. The weapon’s scaling with Faith, Strength, and Dexterity allows for flexibility in character development.

Whether choosing the Axe of Godrick or Grafted Dragon, the choice between the two provides adaptability in playstyle. This weapon not only stands out visually but also delivers substantial damage, making it an intriguing and formidable choice for those seeking a captivating and effective Faith-based weapon.
