Miriam from Bloodstained Joins Blasphemous!

You’ve read the title right. With the newest Strife and Ruin update, Blasphemous will introduce Miriam from Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The update will be available for free on February 18. Needless to say, the update will launch on PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.

So, what’s going to accompany the update? We’ll talk about the details after you watch the epic trailer below:

Blasphemous: Strife & Ruin Details

Players will have to complete a series of platforming challenges to help Miriam return to her world. Doing them will earn Miriam shards that will allow her to repair her portal home. Those who help Miriam return to her world will have a special reward bestowed upon them.

The Strife and Ruin update will also introduce Boss Rush Mode. This mode will become available after completing the main storyline. The mode features courses containing a selection of bosses that players take on using any of their save files. Each run is assigned a score based on various factors, with medals available for the toughest of Penitents.

That’s not all. If you’re an 8-bit retro platformer fan, a new demake area has also been added. This demake area will be played inside an arcade cabinet that is hidden in a secret location on Cvstodia, with reimagined visuals to match the retro style. Continuing the retro theme, The Game Kitchen has also included several new render modes. They’ll emulate older TV effects that can be applied throughout the entire standard game.
