‘Bloodborne’ Listed As A Franchise By Sony – A Sequel On The Cards?

Ever since the original Demon’s Souls(Get the PS5 Remake here) graced the shelves way back in 2009, the gaming community have been hungry to consume anything that even resembles the From Software ‘harsh but fair’ format. Dark Souls, Nioh, Sekiro and Mortal Shell are just a few phenomenal examples of this wonderful game format. However, for many, the mac-daddy of them all is the PlayStation exclusive title, Bloodborne. So predictably, ever since it’s launch, fans have been ravenous, begging for a sequel to this stunning title.(Get Bloodborne GOTY Edition here)

Well, it seems that fans may not have to wait much longer for confirmation of a sequel. If you look up the Linkedn profile of senior PlayStation executive, Shiva Allari, you’ll see that Sony consider this title, not a standalone title but a franchise. Which can only mean one thing. There is more Bloodborne on the way.

Gather Ye Blood Echoes

This statement was one that referred to Bloodborne as a franchise as Shiva listed off the various projects he was a part of. The snippet of Shiva’s bio reads as follows:

“ I look after Partners from indie, free to play to AAA. Working with franchises such as Call of Duty, Assassins Creed, The Witcher, Overwatch, Fortnite, God of War, Fifa, Football Manager, Sonic, Total War and Bloodborne.

Now, as you might have gathered from the listing above, every other title listed is indeed ‘a franchise’. With every other game having at least one sequel to their name.

Fans of the series would love to see this statement confirmed by From Software in the form of a sequel announcement. Especially since the rumours of a remaster seem dead in the water and the PS5 doesn’t offer a visual or performance related step up in quality for this title.

We can only assume that the close competitor for this title, Elden Ring will likely release before From Software even consider bringing the potential news into the spotlight. However, if we can take one thing from this insight, it’s that a new Bloodborne game is surely on the cards at some point in the future. So keep your ear to the ground and your eyes peeled hunters.(Get Bloodborne GOTY Edition here)
