Borderlands 2 DLC 5 is Free for a very limited time on Selected Editions For Switch

A patch went live for Borderlands 2 in early November that added new features for the game while releasing the 5th DLC for Borderlands 2, Commander Lilith & The Fight For Sanctuary. This DLC follows the events that unfold leading up to Borderlands 3 (Get Borderlands 3 for only $20 here).

A News post on the Borderlands 3 website page states that owners of either of the Borderlands: Legendary Collection or Borderlands: The Handsome Collection (Get Borderlands The Handsome Collection for only $8! here) can redeem Commander Lilith & The Fight For Sanctuary for free on the Nintendo eShop until December 3rd (Today! 16:59:59 UTC (08:59:59 PST). This was first announced yesterday on the official Borderlands 3 Twitter, meaning that the DLC is not going to be free for long.

Gearbox has stated that players who don’t have a level 30 character in Borderlands: 2 can still play the DLC. They have the option to create a level 30 character on the select character screen which will then load the DLC. Gearbox has not disclosed the price of the DLC for the Nintendo eShop once the game is no longer free. However, the DLC costs $15 on the Microsoft and PlayStation store. Therefore it should be expected to be around that figure.

Borderlands 2 Switch Crashes Fixed

Along with the updates last month, players got a range of glitches and bugs that would render the game unplayable Gearbox Software finally announced on Twitter:

“A patch for Borderlands 2 on Nintendo Switch has been pushed live to address reported stability issues some player experienced. Thank you for your patience as we worked on the fix” – @Borderlands, Twitter

After all issues with the game on the Nintendo Switch, it seems unfair that the DLC is only free for a single day.

Possible Borderlands 3 Switch Port?

With the release of the final DLC for Borderlands 2, entailing the events leading up to the beginning events for the third title. It makes you wonder whether a Borderlands 3 port may be on its way for the Switch. As the DLC first released in June 2019 to brace players for the launch of Borderlands 3. Furthermore, the recent ports of Doom Eternal (If you are in the EMEA region then you can get it for only $20 on PC here or check it out on Amazon here for other versions & regions) and The Witcher 3(Get The Witcher 3 GOTY Edition for only $12!! here) highlight that the Switch might still get a Borderlands 3 port as well.
