Best Colossal Sword
Elden Ring has replaced the Ultra Greatsword category with the Colossal Swords category. They are chunky pieces of steel that are meant to smash and slash any enemy they come across. They are compatible with multiple Ashes of War but some of them are also boss weapons that have unique Ashes of War that cannot be replaced.
The Colossal Swords category is relatively small so we will be listing the top 5 out of the available 12 in the game.
We can truly see the influence of Berserk on Dark Souls. The series would not exist if not for the inspiration that Hidetaka Miyazaki received from famous mangaka author, Kentaro Miura. So it seems only fitting that the first colossal sword is a homage to the black swordsmen himself, Guts.
The blade has good strength scaling and packs quite a punch. It can be equipped with different Ashes of War but one downside is the insane amount of Strength required to wield it in the first place. Overall definitely one of the contenders for the Elden Ring best colossal sword.
The preferred weapon of Starscourge Radahn. These pairs of colossal swords are a force to be reckoned with. They scale with Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence. Weapons intended for a true warrior, someone who doesn’t mind getting hit, only to hit back harder.
They can be obtained after defeating Startscourge Radahn and they are equipped with a unique Ashes of War known as Starcaller Cry. This weapon skill brings the two swords together to create a gravitational field that makes all enemies in the immediate vicinity float up into the air only to slam them down with immense force.
Godslayer’s Greatsword blade is particularly interesting to play with due to its unique Ashes of War. The activation of the black flames of the sword makes it a veritable threat to enemies and bosses as a weapon that can burn enemies for a good portion of their health, and continue to do damage over time in small amounts. It can be obtained after defeating the Godskin Apostle boss.
The weapon requires average stats to wield and as such can be used in a variety of builds. The sheer flexibility of the pick is why it can be called Elden Ring best colossal sword.
Grafted Blade Greatsword
Now if you have ever seen Game of Thrones then you may recognize Grafted Blade Greatsword. It looks almost identical to the throne made of swords in the show and it can be assumed that a sword made of other smaller swords might do some damage. Well, that assumption would be right as this weapon hits like a truck due to its incredible strength scaling.
The weapon does require an insanely high skill point allocation into strength but it might be worth the time and build considering how strong this sword truly is late-game. It also has a unique Ashes of War called Oath of Vengence, which temporarily increases all of the user’s stats for a certain duration. Definitely in the running for Elden Ring best colossal sword due to the damage output of this beast if well upgraded.
Another visit to the acrobatic style of combat but this time obtained from a slightly different source. Now the weapon acts as a standard greatsword but it has one defining feature that separates it from the others, the Ashes of War known as Wolf’s Assult. The player launches into the air spinning with their sword and landing onto the ground, plunging the sword into it and causing a small explosion of damage.
The sword itself is obtained after defeating Blaidd the Half-Wolf. The primary Strength scaling of the weapon adds to its effectiveness and its place as a worthy blade for your consideration.
