Feel Good Friday: Minit Devs Release Charitable Spin-Off

In these weird days of social distancing, longer times at home, and eating a whole loaf of bread to dry up your feelings (that last one might just be me actually…) its always beneficial to do something that makes you feel good. So why not pick up a copy of the Minit devs new game, where all profits will go to charity FOREVER.

Minit first appeared on our screens in 2018 and was praised for a very unusual game play mechanic. You only have sixty seconds to try and uncover the mystery before the game restarts. Progress is made by collecting items which you get to keep after the reset. The game was nominated for Best Indie game at the Golden Joysticks and Titanium Awards. Minit was developed by Jan Willem Nijman (co-founder of Vlambeer), Kitty Calis (a contributor to Horizon Zero Dawn), Jukio Kallio, and Dominik Johann, the art director of Crows Crows Crows.

Now the team are back with Minit Fun Racer. Described on Steam as a “peculiar little racing game”, the other draw is that 100% of the profits will be going to charity. You can watch the trailer here, I recommend having the sound up as the music is very catchy:

According to Nijman, they will support multiple charities over time. Currently it is Doctors Without Borders and Special Effect, the latter of whom work with people with physical disabilities to make gaming more accessible.

The game is currently available on Steam and Itch. You can choose between three different pay options starting at $2.99 and pay more if you are able. You can also buy the original Minit game & support charity at the same time here(affiliate link).

That’s all from me for today. Have you picked up Minit 2 yet? What else are you doing to feel good today? Let us know in the comments. If you enjoyed this article, why not check out our other work. How about RetroN Sq: Play Gameboy Games on Your TV? Or The Sinking City is Coming to PS5.
