ConcernedApe has finally brought the Stardew Valley 1.5 patch to PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch. It includes a variety of bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and a brand new split-screen co-op mode.
The developer announced the launch on their Twitter account late yesterday, noting that all versions should be available “within the next couple of hours.”
Fans have been hotly anticipating the update, which already came to PC in December last year. It brought a veritable cornucopia of fixes and extra content.
The biggest among these is doubtless the new split-screen co-op mode. Stardew Valley is a wholesome game designed to be played patiently and in comfort. Being able to do so with a friend or loved one by your side has many players understandably excited.
Another big addition in the Stardew Valley 1.5 patch is the new region, Ginger Island. While exploring this area, you will encounter brand new NPCs like Leo and Professor Snail, extra quests, and a whole new volcano dungeon, replete with enemies to beat and treasures to find.
Your farm is getting an expansion too. For one, you can now choose to build a seaside farm, which brings its own unique challenges. Since the soil is all sand, you will have to completely rethink your strategy when planting and maintaining crops. You can also expand your house even further and even raise a new kind of farm animal: ostriches.
