Remember, the game will receive this upgrade as a free update on March 18. This update will also include Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect.
Marvel’s Avengers PS5 Improvements
First off, the PS5 version of Avengerswill offer two settings. Players will now be able to choose between 60FPS checkerboard 4K mode or native 4K mode. As mentioned before, Marvel’s Avengers will support Cross-Gen online matchmaking. This will let heroes from both consoles to team up at any point.
Additionally, there’s going to be a save file import function that will allow players to start where they left off. That way, you won’t have to start the game from scratch after the free upgrade.
Other improvements from the next-gen version of Marvel’s Avengers include faster load times; spatial audio; haptic feedback (from the DualSense controller); Improved textures, among others.
While these are some good news since you won’t have to buy the game twice. The topic of whether or not this update will be enough to “Save” Marvel’s Avengers‘ reputation is still up in the air. The main problem, as mentioned previously, lies in the gameplay loop. Now, it’s a matter of whether or not Crystal Dynamics can address this issue.
In other words, the game needs to wow it’s fans with a renewed gameplay loop. Or, at the very least, have more enemy variety than just robots. The Operation: Hawkeye DLC definitely seems to hold some promise for the latter.
We can only hope that Marvel’s Avengers can make their recovery. Or, at least, make some sort of bounce back in the short-term to justify long-term updates for Square Enix. You can get Marvel’s Avengers at 50% off – with the free next-gen upgrade- here (affiliate link).
