Next-Gen Turns The Witcher 3 Into a Well Oiled Machine

Recent Footage shared by Xbox News on Twitter showcases a quick glimpse into the expected performance for The Witcher 3 on the Xbox Series X. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s loading times are so quick that the game skips loading screens entirely as a result of the Xbox Series X’s powerful hardware.

The New Way To Play The Witcher 3

Although The Witcher 3 is an old game at this point, it is a perfect example for showcasing the power of next-gen consoles. As a result of having a huge game world it is undoubtedly very impressive how fast the game loads. As it loads faster than appearing load screens, players will no longer be able to read those useful tips. Furthermore, this clip indicates that next-gen consoles will be the new way to experience old titles. While allowing companies to further market older titles.

Note that this is not The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt enhanced edition that CD Project Red is developing. But is in fact the Xbox One version played on the performance mode, while running on the Series X. Highlighting that this is just a taste of what fans can expect to see for the enhanced edition.

“Before people go nuts. Yes the game is being played on Series X and no it’s not the optimized version, just the Xbox One version. The optimized version doesn’t have a release this year.”

A Sneak Peak of What To Expect

Back in September CD Project Red announced that besides upgrading the game to next-gen consoles as a standalone purchase , it will be offering a free upgrade for those who already own the title on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. They announced that the game will have enhanced visuals such as Ray-Tracing, as well as faster load times. Therefore using this clip we can derive that the title will have similar load times as shown above.
