It will also help you get started before others and start building your map knowledge; you will also be able to practice and master these maps in different game modes.

Blizzard keeps adding new maps over time, and now we see a Battle pass as well, so we can expect new maps to arrive more often than before, along with new seasons and passes.
Until then, my list will help you learn and master a few of the maps that, if you are just getting started with the game, will let you learn most of the mechanics and make you better in the other areas as well.
Blizzard World
Name | Blizzard World |
Type | Hybrid |
Location | Irvine, California, United States |
Why care about Disney world when you got Blizzard world, a map designed for Blizzard Entertainment to show off their studio capabilities while allowing players to move their payloads around the fantastic world of Blizzard.
The map offers exciting high-ground options while good covers for teams defending the points. Securing the payload is easy as long as you see Pharah in the air, as it’s an open-air Map, so flying around is easy and can provide exponential benefits to specific playstyles.
Ilios
Name | Ilois |
Type | Control |
Location | Greece |
Terrain | City area |
A land very dear to Lucio and its main, Ilios, offers to capture the point game modes. If you are a Lucio main, you will have a lot of playground to roam around on the walls while assisting your teammates and Booping off enemies into the well of death when they least expect you.
The map is designed to take advantage of your surrounding and use it against your enemies; this map forces you to move around; otherwise, there is a massive chance you will fall out of it.
Route 66
Name | Route 66 |
Type | Escort |
Location | Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States |
Terrain | Desert road |
The roads where once Ashe and McCree, aka Cassidy, fell in love, now giving you the opportunities to experience it as well.
This west-style map is excellent for all looking for an authentic American standoff; you can use high grounds to ambush your foes or use the cave and other entrances to escape worst-case scenarios and get back to your team.
Busan
Name | Busan |
Type | Control |
Location | South Korea |
Terrain | City area |
D.va’s homeland and a cyberpunk-style city that never sleeps. Busan offers a futuristic look and opportunities for some heroes to showcase their vocals at the karaoke stand.
Busan offers 3 different areas where you can secure points for a specific time to get your team to victory. It’s a great map with high-ground options, especially if you are playing Soldier 76, WidowMaker, Ana, Cassidy, or Ashe, so you can output most damage while helping your team.
ESPERANÇA
Name | Esperanca |
Type | Push |
Location | Portugal |
The latest addition to Overwatch 2 Map roaster beautiful city of ESPERANÇA, comes with the latest game mode, which is PUSH, where you have to push the Robot to a certain distance and point so that you can win the match.
Unlike moving the pay load, which is a slow process, the robot can move at a much faster pace, and if enemies get access to him, he will be back to the starting point even faster, so better not to leave him alone.
The map sometimes feels quite spacious for 5v5 combats and makes us miss the old 6v6 fights, but maybe it’s just my experience. Nevertheless, I’m happy to have such artwork added to the game and am very excited about what more Overwatch 2 will bring for us all.
Closing Remarks
Maps are a crucial element of the game; if you are not aware of them and their surroundings, there is a massive chance that you will struggle to support your teammates. I tried my best to cover some of the most common maps that you will encounter in the game.
My goal is to help you get started early so you can build your map knowledge and help your team in the best possible manner. If my guides help you improve at games and provide new information, kindly share it with your loved ones.
