PS5 Is Officially The Fastest-Selling Console In US History
The world has screeched to a halt with the COVID-19 pandemic putting a damper on everything it touches. This is not the case for Playstation, however who now have the fastest selling console in the US.
There is a reason why you can’t pick up a PS5– not just because of the scalpers. Excited gamers have been snatching them up faster than any other piece of gaming hardware in US history. According to a tweet by NPD Group analyst Mat Piscatella, the PS5 is “currently the fastest-selling hardware platform” in US history, in terms of total dollar sales. Check out the full tweet here.
PlayStation 5 ranked as the 2nd best-selling hardware platform in February in both unit and dollar sales. PlayStation 5 is currently the fastest selling hardware platform in U.S. history (total dollar sales after 4 months in market).
Including Accessories Too
Matdidn’t go on to share the exact amount that the PS5 hardware itself was bringing in but disclosed that consumer spending across all bases including video game hardware, software, and accessories has stacked a cheeky $9.3 billion this year.
The Playstation 5 has only been on the market for 4 months already. Yet, the Nintendo Switch just snatched the lead in the month of February – most defiantly helped by Super Mario 3D World — Bowser’s Fury, the latest title released last month.
That’s All Folks.
