There are a total of around 13 puzzles in the game. The headless statue puzzle is one of them, which you encounter in chapter 9 of Resident Evil 4 Remake. You need to collect three heads from three different locations. However, this can get tricky and challenging but fear not, as we’ve covered you in this guide.
You will encounter the Headless statue puzzle in chapter 9.
To solve this puzzle, you must get Lion Head, Snake Head, and Goat Head.
The goat head will be located in the gallery.
It would be best to clear the gallery by defeating the hood cultist to get to the goat head.
The snakehead is located in the dining hall.
You need to solve the dining hall puzzle to get the snake head.
The lion’s head is located in the armory.
You need to defeat undead knights to get the lion’s head.
When leaving the armory, you also get the Cubic Device
Place all heads in the headless statue of the grand hall to solve the puzzle.
In Chapter 9 of the game, as you enter the grand hall, you’ll encounter a headless statue. To complete the puzzle, follow these steps:
Three Heads of Chimera: On the right side of the statue, you’ll see a representation of the Chimera with its three heads – a goat, a lion, and a snake. You need to find these three heads to complete the Chimera.
Head Locations: Each head will be located in different areas near the grand hall, and obtaining them will require overcoming various challenges.
Challenges: Be prepared to face different challenges to obtain each head.
Head Placement: Once you have all three heads, return to the Chimera statue and place them in their proper positions.
Solving this puzzle is essential to progress in the main quest line. Make sure you’re well-prepared with supplies and ammo to face challenging enemies along the way.
To reach the goat head in the gallery, follow these steps:
Head to the gallery on the 2nd floor from the grand hall (located on the bottom side of the grand hall).
Proceed to the end of the gallery to find the statue with the goat head. Expect a cutscene where a metal helmet cultist lowers the bridge leading to the statue.
On the balcony to your right, confront a red-hooded cultist with a staff. Prioritize dealing with him due to his troublesome abilities. His screeching sound impairs your vision and makes cultist zombies’ heads explode, revealing Plaga.
To efficiently eliminate the hooded staff cultist, use heavy grenades from a distance or confront him with a shotgun if you lack explosives.
Utilize flash grenades against enemies with exposed Plaga for easy elimination.
These strategies will help you navigate this challenging area and secure the goat head for the puzzle.
After clearing all the enemies in the gallery, make your way to the gallery and pull the lever back to bring the bridge back up. You can return to the original way to the statue to get the goat head. You can also get a yellow diamond from the treasure box beneath the bridge.

To obtain the snake head, follow these steps:
Head to the left of the statue in the grand hall, leading to the dining hall. Look out for the merchant request “More Pest Control” near the door to the dining hall. Completing this request is beneficial.
In the dining hall, you’ll come across a snake statue locked inside a chamber. To acquire the snake head, you must find a way to enter the chamber. This involves solving the dining hall puzzle, which is a prerequisite for completing the headless statue puzzle in Resident Evil 4 Remake.
Dining Hall Puzzle
In the dining hall, you will see that there are options to sit on all the chairs, and there is also an option to command Ashley to sit somewhere. Now at the end of the hall, you can see two portraits of a lady and a man. You need to observe the picture and remember what the table setting in front of them looks like.
Leon must sit in the chair with the same table setting as the man in the picture. At the same time, Ashley must sit in the chair in front of the table setting, similar to the woman in the picture.
In front of the man on the table are an empty wine glass, a bottle of wine, a piece of bread on a plate, three knives on the right side, a spoon, and two forks on the left side of the plate. You must find a chair with a similar setting on the table and sit there.

When both Leon and Ashely are sitting in their correct positions, you need to press the bell on the table, and then the chamber with the snake head will unlock as its spike goes down.
You can now interact with the snake statue to get the snake head.
To obtain the lion head, follow these steps:
Go to the armory by heading to the second floor of the grand hall and entering the room north of the grand hall.
In the armory, drop off the ledge to find the lion statue. Be cautious, as you’ll face a tough fight against undead knight armors known as Armadura.
Armadura enemies have Plaga inside the armor, and they use tentacles to move it. Aim for the exposed Plaga around their necks to remove their helmets, revealing the Plaga head.
After exposing the Plaga head, you can shoot it or use flash grenades to quickly defeat them.
Beware, as most of the knight armor in the armory will come to life and attack you. Ashley will assist by throwing blue fire lanterns, which can immobilize them. You can also lure them into the fire to finish them off efficiently.
Now You can interact with the lion statue to obtain the lion head. The Knights on the horses would be blocking your exit. You can interact with the horse’s tail, and Ashley would do the same, which will clear out your exit.
Getting the Cubic Device:
After exiting the armory, return to the grand hall.
In a hallway, you’ll spot a treasure chest; interact with it.
Inside, you’ll find the Cubic Device, a critical item.
This device unlocks treasure boxes with square-shaped keyholes, allowing access to valuable items and Pesetas.
Now after you have obtained all the heads, make your way back to the grand hall where the headless statue of a chimera is. Interact with the statue, and now you can place the heads one by one on the statue, which will unlock the door with the chimera engraving. This puzzle has no reward, but it is crucial to progress through the game’s main questline.
The game has many puzzles; some are optional to figure out for a sure reward. However, The headless statue puzzle is a critical puzzle that needs to be solved, To progress in Resident Evil 4 Remake.
