Completing the RE4 Remake Pest Control questline is a great way to get you some Spinels. Read here to find out how to complete it.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Pest Control Guide
The RE4 Remake Pest Control questline offers valuable rewards by completing three main tasks to obtain 9 Spinels. The first task, “Pest Control,” in Chapter 2 at the Abandoned Factory, requires exterminating three rats to earn 3 Spinels. The second, “More Pest Control,” in Chapter 9 at Salazar Castle, demands eliminating three rats for an additional 3 Spinels.
In the Pest Control questline, you must find and exterminate a few rats roaming different areas.
In Chapter 2, you get the first request called “Pest Control” outside the Abandoned Factory.
In Chapter 9, the second request is called “More Pest Control” and is found near the corridor to the Dining Hall in Salazar’s Castle.
In Chapter 14, the last request is found in the Island’s Waste Disposal area called “Eeach More Pest Control.”
Now, I’ll give you a step-by-step guide to completing all the pest control requests in RE4 Remake.
In Chapter 2, find the Blue Note outside the Abandoned Factory to activate the Pest Control mission. It’s on the metal tank close to the Trader. You must find and wipe out three rats that have taken residence in Abandon Factory.
The rat will bite the dust from a single shot of a handgun, but the players can stab them, as well, to save some handgun ammunition.
The first rat is in the northwestern corner of the Factory in the hoo-shaped hallway.
The second rat is in the Abandoned Factory’s primary room, close to the windows. It would be best to climb the window to arrive at the long hallway. You can see it before jumping through the window.
The final rat in the Abandoned Factory is near the center of the main room. The rat will run in circles directly in front of the brick furnace.
It would be difficult to see. But I recommend hearing out for the scrabbling sound they make.
After dealing with rats, return to the merchant to get 3x Spinels. The Spinels can be exchanged with the merchant to unlock valuable things, such as the Laser Sight attachment, a Yellow diamond, treasure maps, herbs, and more.
As Leon clears his path through Salazar’s Castle in Chapter 9, he will find another Pest Control request near a door in the Great Hall of the Castle.
Like before, you have to locate the three rats and kill them.
The first rat is situated in the corridor before the Dining Hall, where you will find the request. The rat will run away from you, but you can find and kill it if you hear carefully.
The second rat hides in the passage before the Arsenal. Head left from the great hall’s lower entryway.
Use your torch in the dimmer corridor to locate the rat. It will initially flee but becomes trapped in the lobby, unable to reach the Arsenal.
Listen for its noise if not immediately visible to locate it.
In Chapter 10, as Ashley, you’ll encounter the third rat in the library corridors but can’t eliminate it until you play as Leon.
After freeing Leon from the cage, Chapter 10 begins, allowing free exploration in the Great Hall and Library to locate and kill the rat.
Once the request is made, you can speak to the Trader to get 3x Spinel and choose to save it or spend on upgrades.
Even More Pest Control
In Chapter 14 of Resident Evil 4 Remake, the final Pest Control mission occurs in the Island’s Waste Disposal area. Upon reaching the cargo depot, locate a trader within a room. Find a note near the entryway machinery in the depot. Your task is to hunt and eliminate four rats in the area once you’ve obtained the quest.
The first is going around in the Foyer, where you saw the Ganados arise to snatch Ashley.
To kill the second rat, first, you need Ashley to raise the bridge.
After passing the bridge, you’ll see it’s across the bridge in the right corner.
Head through the office and around to the walkway. You can track down one more rat on the catwalk here.
A final rat near the power switch in a region similar to the last.
Kill the four rats however you want and return to the merchant. Completing this quest will remunerate you with 3x Spinels.
My Experience With Pest Control
Pest Control is another traditional Resident Evil puzzle session, which I think is a remarkable challenge to players. Plus, this questline is a great way to get a few Spinels to spend on various valuable upgrades and items.
Hopefully, you’ll know which areas to look out for when playing Resident Evil 4 Remake so you can complete the quest. Meanwhile, why don’t you check out our guide on how to solve Resident Evil 4 Remake Sword Puzzle?
