Splatoon 3: How To Make Art [Easy Steps]

We will cover everything you need to know about it, from making art to the controls involved.

Before we talk about how to make art in Splatoon 3, you should know what art is in Splatoon. In simple words, it is basically one of the ways for the players to communicate with each other and display their artistic abilities for others to see.

Players can create any kind of drawing they want using the different tools at their disposal. The art that you create is then displayed over your head, and other players will be able to see it once they walk nearby your character.

In Splatoon 3, you can create artwork using various tools on the canvas. Here’s how:

  1. The canvas provides a pen and eraser with adjustable sizes controlled by L/R buttons. You can erase the entire canvas by pressing L3.

  2. Use a range of controls such as L/R, L3, ZL, ZR, X, and Y for tasks like changing brush size, erasing, undoing/redoing actions, zooming, rotating, and saving/posting your artwork.

  3. You can zoom in and out, rotate, save your creation, or post it on social media using the X, Y, ‘-‘, and ‘+’ buttons.

  4. To access the art creation tools, locate the red mailbox near the spawn point, across from Man-o’-Wardrobe, or to the left of Hotlantis.

  5. Once you find the mailbox, select ‘Splatfest post’ or ‘General post’ to start creating your artwork.

How To Make Art In Splatoon 3

If we are being honest, making art in Splatoon is pretty easy. However, before we dive into its details, you should make sure that you are a member of a Splatfest team because it is a prerequisite for creating art.

There are three Splatfest teams to choose from: Rock, Paper, and Scissor.

Once you’ve selected your team, follow these steps to create art:

  1. Locate the red mailbox. From where you spawn, take a right and you’ll find the mailbox across the street from the Man-o’-Wardrobe. It’s to the left of Hotlantis and in front of the three gear shops.

  2. Interact with the red mailbox. You’ll be given the option to create either a ‘Splatfest post’ or a ‘general post.’

  3. Choose the ‘Splatfest option,’ and a window will appear on your screen with various tools for creating your artwork.

Important Tip

Before we conclude our art guide, there are some things that you should know. Firstly, keep your eyes open as once you post your art, it is likely to appear on signs or as graffiti on walls and similar structures around Splatsville.

In addition to that, you should also be mindful of the art you make because if your art is inappropriate, other players can report you to Nintendo, and you can get banned from playing online. You can also report other players who post inappropriate stuff; therefore, to keep such miscreants off the streets, make sure that you do so.

Lastly, we know that you can draw using the left joystick. However, it is preferred that you use your finger or a stylus on the touch screen to draw your art.

That brings us to the end of our Splatoon 3 Art guide. We hope that you found this guide to be helpful and informative. If you liked reading it, make sure to let us know in the comments below.
