Basics Of Holotactics

The Holotable

The game mechanics are simple; you will use the allocated battle points to buy units to fight your enemy monsters. A challenge lasts multiple waves. Furthermore, losing a wave will result in defeat, meaning you will have to restart from scratch. Any leftover points will be carried on to the next round until the final one, so make sure to use all of them in the last round.

Before the round begins, Cal’s droid, BD-1will scan the enemies. This gives you an advantage in planning out your troop’s draft. You can check more enemies and build a stronger draft as you progress.

You have three types of troops available in Holotactics: Empire, Bedlam Raiders, and Fauna. They are subdivided into Ranged and Melee, further categorized according to the point system. The weaker the troop, the fewer points to buy it, and vice versa. Similarly, the unit’s strength correspondent to their higher cost.

The Strategic Approach

Considering the game’s rules, we’ll lay down some basic strategies. Ensure to reinforce troops and spread them on the Holotactics table so they cover most of the area. Troops with shields are suitable for defending, whereas ranged troops as best used for offense in the second line of fight.

Using melee units and shields to take the heat for your backline ranged damage dealers makes sense. A robust and reliable melee unit is the Bedlam Smasher. This costs 14 points and provides an equal balance of offense and defense.

Similarly, the sharpest ranged troops are the Droideka, which costs 12 points. They deal damage long-ranged, so using them behind shields makes them overpowered for the enemy to handle.

Holotactics Monster Lineup

You will face different difficulties of monsters and receive rewards for defeating them. These include: Turgle, Greez, Tulakt, Merrin, Caij, Skoova, T-1N8, and Tulli

Turgle

This will be the easiest monster you face in Holotactics. The match consists of 2 waves.

In the first wave, you will have 6 points to choose your troops. We suggest players spend their points on the following:

  • 2 Raider Grunts (Melee Bedlam Raiders) for 3 points each.

For the second wave, you will be given 12 points. This round can be quickly completed if players use:

  • 1 Droideka (Ranged Bedlam Raiders) for 12 points.

Once Turgle is defeated, you will be awarded a Priorite shard.

Greez

The next monster in Holotactics will be Greez. The battle consists of 3 waves.

In the first wave, you will have 16 points to start with. Win the round by using the following:

  • 1 Droideka (Melee Bedlam Raiders) for 12 points.
  • 3 B1 Droids (Melee) for 1 point each.

In the second wave, you will start with 18 points (plus the leftover 1 point). This round can be completed using the same lineup of troops as wave 1.

The last wave will start with 16 points (plus the leftover 4 points). Use:

  • 1 Droideka (Ranged Bedlam Raiders) for 12 points.
  • 2 Raider Grunts (Melee Bedlam Raiders) for 3 points each.

The defeated Caij will award you with a bounty puck.

Skoova

T-1N8

Being one of the final and most formidable opponents of the Holotactics game, T-1N8 is more challenging to defeat. This battle also has four waves.

You’ll get 25 starting points for wave 1. We recommend using the following:

  • 2 Bramliks (Melee Fauna) for 5 points each.
  • 2 Raider Grunts (Melee Bedlam Raiders) for 3 points each.

Second Wave (26 points + 6 leftover points):

  • 8 Gorgers (Melee Fauna) for 2 points each.

This victory over T-1N8 will reward you with a Datadisk.

Tulli

The final opponent to face is none other than Tulli himself. You would expect him to be your most brutal enemy so far. Hence it is also a four waves battle.

First Wave (25 points):

  • 2 Sutaban Alphas (Melee Fauna) for 10 points each.
