Holotactics is a holographic strategy-based minigame in which you are allocated points to purchase characters who fight your enemy. These points are used to buy your arsenal of units that are AI-controlled.

Each match has a set of rounds based on difficulty, which ranges from 2 to 4 waves depending on how easy or hard the opponents appear. However, before the game begins, you can see the enemy team, making it easier for players to decide how to win the battle.

This excitement-filled game offers you exclusive rewards corresponding to the opponent you defeat. The tips may include resources, currencies, and Cal’s unique outfits. Make sure you use the correct set of fighters to claim these winnings.

Discovering The Rumor

Rumors are side-quests that appear differently in Star Wars JS than in other games. On exploring Koboh, you must complete The Odd Pair mission to get the Holotactics mini-game. Furthermore, the Rumor will be shared by Moran at the bar.

Recruiting The Pair

Players must recruit new allies, particularly Tulli Mu and Bhima Ook, the Cantina Recruits found in the Koboh wilds. They are added to your collection after you get to the rumor, Locate the Odd Pair.

They will be in a place called Boiling Bluff, located near the Rambler’s Reach Outpost. You must head down to the Untamed Downs and cross the canyon to reach this place. At the end of your left side, you will hear two screaming voices asking for help.

You must activate the nearby Mediation Point and proceed. To reach forward, you will have to super-jump using Nekko creatures to progress ahead and reach the platform’s top.

Here you will find the odd pair nailed down by an angry Mogu. After defeating this monster, you will find the voices from nearby Cliffside. You will be greeted by Tulli and Bhima, who introduce you to the mini-game Holotactics after being invited to the Pyloon’s Saloon.

Basics Of Holotactics

The Holotable

The game mechanics are simple; you will use the allocated battle points to buy units to fight your enemy monsters. A challenge lasts multiple waves. Furthermore, losing a wave will result in defeat, meaning you will have to restart from scratch. Any leftover points will be carried on to the next round until the final one, so make sure to use all of them in the last round.

Before the round begins, Cal’s droid, BD-1will scan the enemies. This gives you an advantage in planning out your troop’s draft. You can check more enemies and build a stronger draft as you progress.

You have three types of troops available in Holotactics: Empire, Bedlam Raiders, and Fauna. They are subdivided into Ranged and Melee, further categorized according to the point system. The weaker the troop, the fewer points to buy it, and vice versa. Similarly, the unit’s strength correspondent to their higher cost.

The Strategic Approach

Considering the game’s rules, we’ll lay down some basic strategies. Ensure to reinforce troops and spread them on the Holotactics table so they cover most of the area. Troops with shields are suitable for defending, whereas ranged troops as best used for offense in the second line of fight.

Using melee units and shields to take the heat for your backline ranged damage dealers makes sense. A robust and reliable melee unit is the Bedlam Smasher. This costs 14 points and provides an equal balance of offense and defense.

Similarly, the sharpest ranged troops are the Droideka, which costs 12 points. They deal damage long-ranged, so using them behind shields makes them overpowered for the enemy to handle.

Holotactics Monster Lineup

You will face different difficulties of monsters and receive rewards for defeating them. These include: Turgle, Greez, Tulakt, Merrin, Caij, Skoova, T-1N8, and Tulli
