Five Nights at Freddy’s PS5 Version Reveal | State of Play
A creepy bunny face, an ominous monologue, clockwork in the soundtrack, uncomfortable visuals… It had to be a Five Nights at Freddy’s trailer. As Five Nights at Freddy’s makes its way onto the next generation of consoles with Security Breach, one must admit that these game really know how to build on what was once a very simple game.
In the trailer for the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s game, we get to see not only the creepy-as-ever animatronic fiends we’ll be facing but the vibrant-yet-unsettling world we’ll be running through.
This first person adventure looks like a thrill ride, though we only got bits and pieces of what gameplay will be like. There might not be too much plot revealed yet, but the world looks huge this time around. And yet it feels like there will be no place to hide…
Some of the terrors this time around include bears, rabbits, and chickens, and the setting includes a ball pit and a lot of very tight passages. Somehow, the bright lights and rainbow decor in many of the backgrounds are completely unnerving. And I never thought I’d say I’ll have nightmares about a guitar-wielding robot-chicken. And yet, here we are.
With a franchise that’s seen as many games as Five Nights at Freddy’s (there’s over a dozen, apparently), the final line of this trailer, “There’s more going on here than we realise,” can mean very much or very little. Will this game be a handful of jumpscares? Or something as deep as it is menacing?
