Remnant: From the Ashes takes a different approach to the whole monster shooter genre. Calling it the Dark Souls of shooting games would be highly disregarding the game. Remnant takes the Dark Souls formula and adds its unique twist to it. Much like the Best Dex Weapons in Dark Souls, you have tons of weapon choices and build options. This is why today’s guide will focus on the Remnant Best Weapons. Finding the ideal weapon can be a cumbersome task, but you’ll mow down the herd of monsters standing in your way when you find it. With that being said, every player will prefer a different weapon according to their playstyle and build. This guide will include weapons of all types so pick the ones that suit your build the most. Without further ado, let’s get started and find out the Remnant Best Weapons. Remnant Best Weapons Gunfire Games – developers of Remnant, are constantly adding in new weapons to keep the game fresh and active. This list will include newer weapons as well as the ones that are in the game since launch. Whether you’ve taken inspiration from the Dark Souls Quality Build and are going for a frontline build, or want to try out a ranged build, we’ve got you covered. Devastator Devastator stats and description Starting off our list with a deadly crossbow that is perfect for stealth kills. I know that crossbows are divisive, but this one is too good to be left out. It is an extremely strong weapon that deals a minimum of 32 damage – which is quite decent – up to 96 damage. With that being said, the major downside is that you have to reload after firing every shot. This drastically reduces your rate of fire, and if you’re surrounded by enemies, they will overwhelm you. Its special ability – Skewer Mod – is ideal against bosses or weaker enemies. Using this ability will fire a large spike that deals insane damage, staggers enemies, and causes bleeding. Enemies that have the bleeding debuff will take 600 damage over the next 20 seconds. However, you will have to get close to enemies for the Devastator to deal maximum damage. To obtain this weapon, you have to defeat The Unclean One located at the Corsus. He will drop the Unclean Heart – a key component for the Devastator. Once you get that item, you will be able to craft this amazing crossbow without any issues. Coach Gun Stats of the Coach Gun Moving on towards a variant of the shotgun. You’ll find this weapon at the start of Remnant, and it is wonderful. With the damage of 102 – 306, you will obliterate any enemies standing in your way. The main reason I picked this over the ordinary shotgun is due to its increased rate of fire. On top of that, the reload speed is quite decent, making your DPS better. It has a long barrel which means that you can use it from a distance rather than getting up close and personal. This gives you more wiggle room, especially when you’re fighting bosses. The only downside is that you have to reload after 2 shots since it is considered as a double-barrelled shotgun. Obtaining this weapon is easy as you can start the game with it if you choose the Ex-Cultist class. Even if you don’t pick that class, you can buy it from Rigs for only 600 Scrap. Beam Rifle Stats of Beam Rifle The Beam Rifle has an impressive fire rate of 4 rounds per second, which means you’ll blast your way through its 30-round magazine. Worry not, however, as you get a total of 200 ammo with it which means that it will take some time to use up all the ammo. It has a damage of 20 – 60 depending on the distance you fire it from. The best part about this gun is that the longer you hold the trigger, the more damage it’ll deal. You can either use it like a burst weapon or an automatic one; the results will always be positive. The Beam Rifle is one of the best weapons with consistent damage across the board. Enemies that get hit with the Beam Rifle have a Radiation status applied on them. This reduces their stamina, and they are more prone to getting staggered. However, if you hold the trigger without letting it go, the rifle will overheat, causing you to wait a few seconds before using it again. The only issue is that you will run through your ammo in no time if you don’t keep track of it. Once you run out, fights can get pretty awkward for you. To get this weapon, the player must complete a random event called The Lost Ghantry which is situated on Rhom. This event can be a little difficult to complete as you have to kill waves of enemies that get stronger with every subsequent wave. Once you have survived though, the Beam Rifle will be given to you as a reward for your valiant effort. Sniper Rifle Using the scope of the Sniper Rifle Hands down, this is the best weapon for long-range attacks. While it is ideal for fighting at a distance, you will have to switch to something more comfortable once enemies get close to you. Now that the drawback is out of the way, let’s talk about why the sniper rifle is so good. It has insane damage of 135 – 375 which can one-shot most enemies you face especially early on. On top of that, it has a 20% chance to critically strike. It only has one shot in the chamber but the majority of the enemies will die before having a chance to get close to you so it shouldn’t matter. When going against bosses, I suggest either trying to kite the boss or let your teammate take aggro while you fire from a distance. You can get this rifle quite early on in Remnant in the basement of the Church. When you enter the location, head through the hallway and go downstairs where you will find this weapon behind some debris. Aiming it can be tricky, especially if you are not used to sniper rifles but you will get the hang of it pretty quickly. The Sniper Rifle is considered as one of the Remnant Best Weapons. Sporebloom Sporebloom has high damage Moving on to another type of shotgun, the Sporebloom. At close range, this weapon’s damage is unmatched. It deals 200 – 600 damage which will destroy most enemies with one blow. You have to reload after firing each shot but the reload speed is decent and the damage more than makes up for it. The Sporebloom comes with a built-in mod that causes enemies to take 50 rot damage. Plus, this effect has an area of effect which means you can potentially apply the rot effect on tons of enemies at once. Obtaining the Sporebloom is easy as you’ll have to defeat the Ent and collect the Spore Gland dropped by it. After collecting it, you will be able to craft this insanely strong weapon. Assault Rifle The AR in action Assault Rifles are a must-have in any shooting game. Without including an Assault Rifle, this wouldn't be a Remnant Best Weapons list. You can get this beautifully crafted weapon in one of the dungeons located on Earth. The Assault Rifle is ideal for mid to long distances and can deal a consistent amount of damage ranging from 19.5 – 45. Since it is an automatic rifle, the rate of fire is extremely fast standing at 7.3 rounds per second. I got through most of the game using the Assault Rifle as it was extremely good in all situations. Whether it's boss fights or clearing out waves of enemies, you will always find a use of the AR. Not only that, once you fully upgrade it, the AR deals insane amounts of damage. Just make sure to keep an eye on your ammo supply as it can run out pretty quickly when fighting bosses with tons of HP. As mentioned earlier, you can get it from a dungeon on Earth – more specifically the Sorrow’s Field Dungeon. A random Supply Run will appear in that dungeon where you’ll have to face tons of enemies. After defeating all the enemies, the player will be able to access a door behind which the rifle and the Spirit Trait can be located. Riven This scythe is extremely deadly Riven is the first melee weapon on our list and there is a reason why it’s ranked so high. Not only does it look flamboyant, but it also has a good reach and deals a good amount of damage. You can use this scythe to block enemy attacks, making it a good defensive and a good offensive weapon. Every successful attack you deal with will also heal your character for a portion of it. This is extremely useful as Remnant – much like the Souls games, does not let you heal freely. You only get a few items that you can use to heal yourself and those items can be used a finite number of times. Plus, since the Riven is a superb weapon of choice, it makes melee builds fun in Remnant. I felt like the game was lacking strong melee builds since there was never an incentive to pick melee weapons over the guns. However, with the healing, decent reach, and good damage; Riven is a must-have for any players that like to get up close and personal. Defiler Crafting the Defiler If you’re looking for a strong revolver, Defiler is certainly ideal for you. It has six rounds and they deal insane damage to any enemy you hit. If you do not prefer to use shotguns, Defiler is superb at dealing with close-range enemies. The ideal combo would be to use it with either the Sniper Rifle or the Assault Rifle. Most players use the submachine gun instead of this but in my experience, this revolver is better. After you defeat The Harrow on Rhom, you’ll be able to craft this gun. A fully upgraded Defiler can one-shot most enemies at close range without any second thought. On top of that, the Radioactive Volley mod allows you to fire all 6 bullets at once causing radiation damage to enemies. Not only that, but those bullets also bounce from walls or the floor causing chaos in the area. If you equip the Hunter’s Halo and the Iskal Hunter Band, this weapon will be effective at long range as well. But there are tons of better options for long-range than this, so it’s best to when the enemies get close. Repulsor Repulsor is ideal at close-range The Repulsor is best suited for players that want to kill enemies in one or two hits without any issues. From all the weapons available in the game as of writing this, Repulsor has the highest DPS. However, the fire rate is not the best but the damage justifies it. Since it is a shotgun variant, it has a similar range to the aforementioned Coach Gun and deals 100 – 300 damage. The thing differentiating it from the Coach Gun is that it can fire 5 bullets before having to reload. What makes this weapon excellent – almost overpowered – is its mod. The Banish Mod allows you to banish enemies for a few seconds allowing you to handle the rest. Once those enemies return, you’ll deal an additional 1.25 times damage to them with all weapons. You can even use this ability on large bosses as well. While they will not get banished – since they are immune, they will still take the increased damage. You can thin out herds or swiftly defeat bosses thanks to the Repulsor. To get this weapon, you will have to defeat the final boss of Remnant, the Dreamer. It will drop Dreamer’s Mana which is a key component to craft this strong shotgun. This truly is a strong contender for one of the Remnant Best Weapons. Ruin Fighting enemies with Ruin Finally, the best weapon in Remnant, Ruin. It is a rifle that is best used as a primary weapon much like the AR. However, unlike the AR, Ruin is overwhelmingly superior once fully upgraded. On top of that, it also comes with a scope that can be zoomed almost 3x times with a good critical hit chance. The damage ranges from 19 – 57 but the rate of fire is superb. Ruin has Undying, which revives the player when they die with 50% of their HP. When you get revived, you’ll take reduced damage and will be immune to effects for up to 5 seconds. This mod can be used as much as you want only if it is not on cooldown. Due to this ability, the weapon can be considered broken or overpowered. Obtaining it can be a bit troublesome, however. You have to defeat the Undying King because he will drop the Undying Heart. Use it to craft this amazing weapon and you’ll always get revived if the mod has full power. Conclusion There are tons of great weapons in Remnant: From the Ashes. Depending on your playstyle and your build, you have to find the perfect one for yourself. All of the weapons mentioned in this list are extremely viable and strong against all types of enemies. No matter what build you are planning to do, there is a weapon for everyone in this guide. With that, we are at the end of our list about the Remnant Best Weapons. Let me know in the comments below which weapon is your favorite and why.
