Since the launch of Warzone 2.0, players are figuring out which weapon is the best in its category, the same goes for LMGs. There are only a handful of LMGs available, each good in its own way but of course, not all fingers are ever equal, are they We have made a list of which LMG holds the award for being the Best LMG in Warzone 2.0 right now and which one happens to be the worst.
- In COD Warzone 2.0, LMGs are frequently picked due to their high fire rate and impressive damage.
- Each LMG has some benefits and some drawbacks. But, some LMGs have lesser drawbacks, making them better than others.
- If you are aware of which LMG is the best, you can gain more kills and victories.
- Each LMG should be paired with the best loadout for better outcomes.
All LMGs Available In Warzone 2.0
Currently, Warzone 2.0 holds six LMGs (Light Machine Guns) for players to choose from. Some of the LMGs are top picks whereas some fail to be the fan favorite. So, despite having a choice of six, make sure you educate yourself fully about each LMG in Warzone 2.0 so you can pick the best of them all. The LMGs you can find available in-game currently are:
- Sakin MG38: It can be unlocked early in the game.
- 556 Icarus: It can be unlocked after leveling up M4 to Level 13.
- RAAL MG: It can be unlocked once MR reaches Level 25.
- RAPP H: It can be unlocked once Lachmann-556 levels up to Level 16.
- RPK: It can be unlocked once Kastov 762 reaches Level 16.
- HCR 56: It can be unlocked once STB 556 reaches Level 20.
Now that you know all available LMGs in Call Of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and how to unlock them, let’s rank them from best to worst in the game.
Best LMGs In Warzone 2.0
Each of the Light machine guns comes with its own perks and downsides but that does not make them all equal. Some LMGs already managed to make their way up the top 5 best guns not just in their respective category, but in the entire game. We have made a ranking list starting from the best LMGs in Warzone 2.0 to the worst ones yet.
We firmly believe that RAAL MG is the strongest beast out of all LMGs in Warzone 2.0 right now. Even though the game was recently launched, there is no doubt many players have already picked RAAL MG as their favorite.
The massive damage RAAL MG deals enemies makes it one of the best TTK weapons. Not only that, the damage is so insane that it instantly penetrates through the enemy’s heavy armor, leading to securing kills in seconds.
The damage and amazing accuracy alone makes up for the lack of mobility and ADS this LMG (like any other) comes with. That is why a good loadout for RAAL MG is necessary, an already strong weapon intensifying into something stronger is any COD player’s dream.
Best Loadout For RAAL MG
- Muzzle: Cronen DM338
- Optic: Cronen Mini Pro
- Ammunition: .338 Mag High Velocity
- Stock: Demo Nimble Stock
- Magazine: 50 Round Belt Mag
Any LMG, whether best of all or worst than ever, has horizontal recoil due to its high bullet velocity. To reduce this horizontal recoil while firing and improve its control and the overall aim of the gun, Cronen DM338 is the suggested Muzzle for RAAL MG from our side.
Tracking down enemies faster in mid to close-range combats can be a tricky job with any LMG, therefore we suggest a Cronen Mini Pro. Players will get a precise target view and any minor reduction in ADS this optic comes with can be covered by other attachments we have listed for RAAL MG.
To increase the projectile/bullet velocity of RAAL MG further, the ammunition attachment, specifically .338 Mag High Velocity is recommended. Players will get to hit enemies faster with fewer bullets missing. Keep in mind, to unlock .338 Mag High Velocity, first get your RAAL MG to Level 7.
To improve your mobility, a huge disadvantage of RAAL MG, we suggest a Demo Nimble Stock attachment. Your Sprint Speed along with Aim Walking Speed will immensely get better with a little decrease in Aim Stability.
One of the cons RAAL MG comes with is bad Aim Down Speed and overall slow mobility due to the heavily weighted gun itself. But, a 50 Round Belt Mag increases ADS and mobility of the player in return for reduced bullets per mag. But in all honesty, sacrificing a few bullets per round for increased mobility, along with better ADS and sprint-to-fire speed is a good trade for RAAL MG.
One of the earliest LMGs you will come across is 556 Icarus, which is unlocked once your M4 reaches level 13.
556 Icarus is a lightweight LMG, which means more mobile. It also includes a high firing rate to secure kills faster. But the light body mixed with high bullet velocity increases the overall recoil of the gun. It is indeed a downside of the gun but with correct attachments, the 556 Icarus can stand side by side with RAAL MG.
We suggest new COD players start with 556 Icarus if they want LMG for a weapon. It’s not just lightweight and easy to handle but also deals impressive TTK and damage even without any attachments.
Best Loadout For 556 Icarus
- Muzzle: Broadhead-3DP
- Barrel: FTAC Coldforge 16” Barrel
- Rear Grip: XTEN Grip
- Optic: Cronen Mini Red Dot
- Stock: Corio Precio Factory
As mentioned, due to the lightweight and high fire rate, 556 Icarus comes with huge recoil. To get this recoil under control, a Broadhead-3DP muzzle attachment is a must. Not only does it provide recoil control, but also smoothens it. However, this attachment negatively impacts the gun’s Aim Down Speed and Damage Range. Worry not, other attachments listed below will fix the issue.
To increase the Damage Range that was reduced by muzzle attachment, FTAC Coldforge 16” Barrel is required. It also enhances other qualities of 556 Icarus such as increased Bullet Velocity and Hip Fire Accuracy.
For Rear Grip, XTEN Grip is the perfect attachment for 556 Icarus. The negatively impacted ADS from muzzle attachment is improved immensely from this attachment alone. Sprint To Fire speed also rises up, making 556 Icarus a strong LMG pick with all the mobility.
For precise accuracy in a vast area and long-range combats, optic attachment is necessary for any LMG. We choose Cronen Mini Red Dot as it provides pinpoint accuracy in exchange for just a minor impact on Aim Down Speed.
To further improve Aim Stability and the Recoil Control of 556 Icarus to secure kills easier, equip a Corio Precio Factory stock attachment. The stability this attachment provides is the best of all stock attachments.
The Sakin MG38 is a huge LMG attached to an ammunition belt for rapid firing. To assist the rapid firing, the gun comes with the biggest magazine with 100 rounds from LMG class. A big magazine helps players take down enemies from mid to short-range combats with rapid firing. However, there are a few cons to Sakin MG38 too, mostly due to its weight and size.
Other than a high-capacity magazine and a fast fire rate of 7.62 rounds, nothing else really stands out from Sakin MG38. The gun has terrible TTK and recoil, especially at close ranges. And once you run out of bullets, it takes forever to reload and overall Aim stability is poor. Players’ mobility and ADS also gain negative effects due to the gun’s heavy weight.
Honestly, Sakin MG38 can become a good pick with the correct attachments. Taking down whole squads in mid-range combat all from a high-capacity magazine and fire rate. Other qualities of the gun can improve well enough too with the attachments.
Best Loadout For Sakin MG38
- Muzzle: Lockshot KT85
- Barrel: 20” Bruen Silver Series Barrel
- Rear Grip: Bruen Q900 Grip Wrap
- Underbarrel: FSS Sharkfin 90
- Optic: Cronen Mini Pro (for precise accuracy)
Since a huge issue with Sakin MG38 is the lack of recoil control, Lockshot KT85 is the best muzzle for it. The whole focus of this attachment is Recoil Control, improving both vertical and horizontal recoil while shooting the gun.
To increase the damage range Sakin MG38 comes with, 20” Bruen Silver Series Barrel is the perfect attachment. Not just that, the already high bullet velocity is further sky-high, helping with the unsatisfactory TTK (Time To Kill) of the gun. You can also reduce the recoil further with this barrel attachment, which no doubt is necessary for Sakin MG38. But with happiness comes a little sacrifice, the mobility gains a negative impact in return for all the benefits.
Aim Down Speed and Sprint to fire speed are terrible in Sakin MG38 but they are capable of improvement. A Rear Grip attachment Bruen Q900 Grip Wrap provides both in exchange for some recoil control. You won’t be much affected by it due to Lockshot KT85 and 20” Bruen Silver Series as other attachments giving off enough Recoil Control.
To stabilize the poor aim accuracy of Sakin MG38, all you need is FSS Sharkfin 90. Aim Stability is its main focus. And finally, attach Cronen Mini Pro for precise and clear sight.
A Light machine gun but designed as an Assault Rifle, RPK is better to handle than most LMGs. To unlock RPK, players need to Level up their Kastov 762 to Level 16.
Due to having the worst TTK out of all LMGs in Warzone 2.0, RPK is not one of the tops on our list. However, the precise accuracy of RPK like most Assault Rifles, along with good handling and Damage Range saves it from being the worse.
RPK only performs well in medium-range combats, so if you are trying to pick off enemies from a distance, you might be wasting your time. To improve the negative aspects of RPK, we have a perfect loadout for you.
Best Loadout For RPK
- Muzzle: Kastovia DX90
- Barrel: TAC 597 Barrel
- Underbarrel: FTac Ripper 56
- Rear Grip: True-TAC Grip
- Optic: Cronen Mini Red Dot
To improve the TTK (Time to Kill) aspect of RPK, we suggest Kastovia DX90 for the muzzle. Along with Recoil Control and Recoil Smoothness to get a perfect shot, RPK will also have better Bullet Velocity, dealing more damage to the target in a lesser timeframe. Players who like to play mid-close range will also gain sound suppression to stay undetected on the mini-map.
To further increase Bullet Velocity, equip TAC 597 Barrel as an attachment, you won’t regret it. Hip Fire will also obtain more accuracy so players can shoot off faster with more accurate shots. One of the biggest downsides of LMGs, in general, is the lack of mobility, but with TAC 597 players gain movement speed to roam around the map faster.
In medium-range fights, Hip Fire accuracy is crucial so increase it more by equipping FTac Ripper 56 as an underbarrel attachment. The attachment provides Recoil Stabilization and Aiming Stability too to pick off opponents easier from afar.
Since other attachments in this loadout might worsen the ADS speed, True-TAC Grip is necessary to keep it balanced. It improves the gun’s Aim Down Sight Speed along with Sprint to Fire Speed, giving players a bit more mobility overall.
Finally, for a better sight, make sure to attach a Cronen Mini Red Dot to assist you in tracking down enemies better.
If you are a close-range combat person, HCR 56, one of the lightest LMGs in the bunch is perfect for you. It won’t only give you built-in mobility, but also a good ADS along with the fastest reload speed out of all LMGs. Despite having all these pros you wonder, why is it in the least pickable LMGs this meta? The answer is simple, the more the range, the less damage, and accuracy HCR 56 will give off.
The gun is only beneficial in team fights if your opponent is within 10-15 feet. There is another major con too, that is, its failure to compete with other close-range guns and their damage. Better avoid HCR 56 unless you plan to play in short-range.
Best Loadout For HCR 56
- Barrel: Bruen Turaco 686mm
- Muzzle: Sakin Tread-40
- Underbarrel: FTac Ripper
- Rear Grip: STIP-40 Grip
- Optic: VLK 4.0 Optic
Since the biggest requirement in HCR 56 is Damage Range and Recoil Control, equip Bruen Turaco 686mm barrel. It won’t just provide those two necessary requirements, the gun will also gain Bullet Velocity. This attachment will make HCR 56 capable of securing kills from medium-range too.
Recoil in close-range is horrible for instant kills, that’s where Sakin Tread-40 comes in. It is a muzzle attachment with the sole purpose of reducing the horizontal and vertical recoil of the gun.
For underbarrel, FTac Ripper is the perfect attachment. The more Aim Accuracy along with Recoil Stabilization HCR 56 gathers, the better. Hip Fire Accuracy also improves, giving players faster time to shoot and kill in short-ranged combats.
Now that Aim Stability is enhanced enough, attach STIP-40 Grip and trade a small amount of it for Recoil Control. Remember, Recoil Control is more important than Aim Stability for HCR 56 anyways.
If you happen to track opponents in a distance, worry not, because VLK 4.0 as a scope attachment will give you 4.0x magnification. So even if this not-so-good in-range gun happens to be in a long-range situation, the possibility to lose the team fight isn’t 100% anymore.
The heaviest LMG, opposite of what HCR 56 was, is called RAPP H. The gun is bad at handling, has terrible accuracy even with attachments, and slows down players immensely due to its heavy weight. So, if the opponent has a mobility advantage and a better accuracy weapon, the chances of winning that combat are slim. RAPP H does have a high fire rate that assists in quick TTKs, but overall gameplay with RAPP H is sluggish or snail pace.
RAPP H might be the last on our list, but if you want to try it out regardless, we have the best loadout for it which will improve the gun’s qualities in some areas.
Best Loadout For RAPP H
- Muzzle: Polarfire-S
- Underbarrel: VX Pineapple Underbarrel
- Stock: FT Mobile Stock
- Rear Grip: Lachmann TCG-10 Grip
- Laser: FSS OLE-V Laser
One of the few plus points of RAPP H is its high fire rate, so pair it with Polarfire-S for Bullet Velocity to reach its full potential and improve TTK. The muzzle will also increase the Damage Range and improve Recoil Smoothness for its terrible built-in accuracy. For more accuracy and steadiness while shooting opponents, equip a VX Pineapple underbarrel.
As already mentioned, RAPP H fails to provide movement speed due to its heavy weight. To overcome this negative aspect of the gun, equip FT Mobile Stock attachment. Aim Walking, Crouch Movement Speed, Sprint Speed, and ADS are boosted up all from this Stock attachment.
To further work on the Recoil of the RAPP H, attach a Lachmann TCG-10 Rear Grip. To get a better aim and precise sight, make sure to attach an FSS OLE-V Laser. Hopefully, the suggested loadout will guide you to victory with the worse LMG in Warzone 2 currently.
Are LMGs Worth Picking
Each of the LMG in Warzone 2 Season 1 has its positive aspects too, even if we discussed it as the worst LMG with millions of drawbacks. However, make sure to equip the best attachments, which we have already mentioned, for a smooth victory. You can’t just pick HCR 56 or RAPP H and ruin it further with poor attachment choices. But you can not say the same for RAAL MG. Players easily gain a killing streak with such a beastly gun no matter the attachment.
In conclusion, if you pick LMGs with more negative aspects, make sure to choose the perfect attachments then. In the end, all LMGs are capable of securing kills and gaining victories. Players have fun playing with any LMG weapon and that is all that matters in the end.
All six LMGs are frequent picks, making players wonder which one of them is the best LMG in Warzone 2.0. We have mentioned why some LMGs are better than others and what loadout can improve each LMG further on.
The best LMG and possibly the best weapon in whole Warzone 2 right now is RAAL MG but that doesn’t mean you don’t try out other fun LMGs available. Even the sluggish RAPP H is fun to play with the right attachments. We wish you many victories in the newly launched Warzone 2.0, Happy Gaming!
